Counselling for Relationships and Couples

Are you having difficulties with an important relationship in your life? Do you seem to be growing apart? Are you always arguing? Do you think the spark has disappeared?

We all experience times in our relationships where things go wrong and it can be incredibly difficult for you and your loved one, but couples therapy offers a solution.

If you have recognised that you and your partner need help to work through a situation, you have already made the first step. Acknowledging that you need help and seeking advice could just be the best thing you did.

Relationship Therapy

At The Worsley Centre, we offer a safe, welcome and confidential space where couples can speak freely, be guided and supported by our experienced relationship therapists.

By talking through your problems and exploring the difficulties that have arisen in your relationship, the therapist will discuss and find new and effective ways that you can communicate with each other, helping you to decide the best way forward for you both.

Whilst many couples leave it too late before seeking help, we understand that the decision to get help is a brave yet important step towards change. We will help you to explore whether you want to stay together or to separate in a healthy way.

A relationship counsellor can look at your relationship issues with fresh eyes and with a non-bias opinion, this is how you begin to work issues out together and connect related issues in order to reveal the root cause to your problems.

Issues or Events that may lead you to seek Couples Counselling

There are only two types of issues that affect a relationship, these are internal and external problems. Luckily, no matter the problem our couples counsellors can help you.

External issues may involve someone outside the relationship affecting the way one or both people in the relationship feel. Internal issues are usually the feelings you have toward the other person, sometimes these feelings are less apparent than they used to be or one person feels as though they aren’t supported or loved enough by the other person. There are some specific relationship difficulties that occur in those seeking advice with relationship counselling such as:

  • One or both people have had an affair
  • A secret that one person had kept or discovered
  • A decline in sexual desire
  • Feeling that one or both of you have drifted apart
  • Difficulty with the parents or children of your partner
