Ann Heathcote

ann_optAnn Heathcote opened The Worsley Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling in 2001.

Ann has had a long-standing concern for the mental health and well-being of others, so it seemed an obvious choice for her to enter the ‘caring’ professions.

In the mid to late 1980’s, Ann worked for several years as a Samaritan volunteer and supervisor of new volunteers. She obtained a BSc (Hons) Psychology in 1990.

Ann began training as a transactional analyst in 1991 and started in private practice in 1993 (under supervision). From 1995-1999, she also worked as a group worker in a social service mental health day centre, called Duchy House, in Salford.

In 2006, Ann became a Certified Transactional Analyst, which also entitled her to register with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. She has also ran many workshops on topics such as “Anxiety” and “Stress Management”, “Good Grief Rituals”, “A Taste of TA” (Transactional Analysis) and “Calming the Monsters in Your Mind”.

Ann spends her professional life running The Worsley Centre, and as a writer.

She is married and has two children.
